JW graduated from St Martin's, London, with a first, followed by an MA from the Royal College of Art. He began work as an art teacher; children's books creator and illustrator; college lecturer and consultant designer for Penguin Books and British Steel. He then fought his way into advertising, to learn from the best of the best in the white-hot creative departments of Saatchi & Saatchi; DDB and OM. JW worked in London, the Middle East and Far East as a creative director on a wide variety of accounts, ranging from the modest to those billing over $100m. Among the clients worked with were: American Airlines; American Express; Bass; Bayer; British Airways; Bvlgary; Ciba-Geigy; COI; Daily Mail; DKNY; Dunlop; GKN; GSK; GUS; ICI; Kodak; P&G; Quality Street; Sony; Toyota; Lexus; Volvo; Renault; VW.
Subsequent metamorphosis: teacher, freelancer, consultant, partner/owner of creative consultancy. Now JW looks to only work with people he likes; bright, like-minded people.
Current drivers: inquisitiveness; intuition; ideas; realising those ideas.
